At first listen, it's obvious why This Century have exploded onto the scene - They make insanely good pop/rock music, are led by one of the best vocalists to hit music in a very long time and have worked tirelessly to get where they are today. The Phoenix, AZ band have been around since 2007 and we get the feeling we're going to be seeing more and more of the quartet. Recently the band have released a full length album, Biography of Heartbreak and spent the summer on tour with The Maine and A Rocket To The Moon - and if you're still regretting missing that tour, you're in luck. The band will be out on the road again at the end of this month for the Up Close and Personal tour with Nick Santino and The Northern Wind. We got the opportunity to ask guitarist Sean Silverman about tour, TC's music and more. Check it out below, then grab your tickets to the Up Close and Personal tour - you don't want to deal with all that regret again!
What do you like to do on off days of tour?
Usually we're couped up in our hotel rooms watching the Food Network on constant repeat. When we're not stuck doing that, you can find us attempting to get in touch with nature but that's on those special days when we feel like we're going a bit stir crazy.
What's your best memory from being in This Century?
A lot of the best memories are those weird nights that happened early on in our career when we were still sleeping on floors and living off of 99% ramen meals...somehow those ones seem to stick with you.
What are your top three must-haves on tour?
Baby wipes, hand sanitizer, cell phone...in that order.
What do you hope fans get from your music?
We hope that they connect with the experiences we've had and are able to be inspired to do something positive out of it
How do you stay sane when you're on tour for long periods of time?
We usually watch disturbingly long TV series that we haven't had a chance to catch up on or rip on each other until everyone else is amused. It's a great way to stay sane!
What should fans expect from your set on the Up Close and Personal tour?
We'll definitely be showcasing a lot more of our new record "Biography of Heartbreak" and playing new versions of the songs we've been playing for quite some time now.
What city are you most excited to visit on the tour?
I'm personally looking forward to being back in NY (Alex and I are from there)...there's always a special energy that comes with performing in NYC for us.
What's next for This Century?
We're looking forward to touring across the globe in 2014 and it looks like we have some new music brewing as well!
