Hit: Trends and Phases

Miss: Burdened By Hope

To Sum It Up:

An explosion of great progressive hardcore material.

Line In The Sand by Close Your Eyes is an explosion of great progressive hardcore material. You can hear a lot of experimentation on the album, which is exactly what you should expect from a band that saw three different vocalists in a single year. It seems, though, that they've finally gotten the puzzle right; vocalist Sam Ryder couldn't fit much better – And the talent that man has is nothing short of incredible. Sure, the album could have been shorter and the first two tracks should be skipped over completely, but songs like “Trends and Phases”, “Line In The Sand” and “Kings of John Payne” more than make up for it. All in all, this is an impressively strong release, and I'm looking forward to seeing what's to come of Close Your Eyes.
